  No compromises from this place. if you want to eliminate fuel emissions, how about turn Donner and Tehachappi pass into Canyons, so we don't have to burn a TON of fuel climbing up and down those mountains, there you go, free advice to save fuel and emissions!! My fleets will NEVER go out to California, and here is why. I take care of stuff in the ag business, which gives me SOME exceptions to their rules here in CA, but when California has the HIGHEST expenses on goods and services, their constant complaining about emissions causes their prices on stuff to SOAR well and beyond what the average means of income for them is, this is what is happening. A semi tractor pulls YOUR grocery and food supplies across the country, if you know ANYTHING about a carb compliant motor, they cost a TON of money to purchase, retrofit and maintain. Okay, this worked for awhile with this Resource board, we put on DPF filters and went to work, but then soon after they couldn't just take the exception of us retrofitting already expensive DPF filters on our trucks, they now want near-zero emissions trucks, I have news for you. It is NOT feasible to be zero emissions unless you have a hydrogen fuel cell powered motor in your vehicle. Which isn't happening at all. They want YOU to buy a brand new tractor to drive into and around their state with clean emissions, but can you afford it?? Heck no! At 150k just for a dumb truck, I think I would rather take my business elsewhere to 47 other states that are not picky about dumb stuff. But shouldn't fleet owners be concerned about environmental impact? sure, but energy has to go somewhere, just because you have clean emissions doesn't mean your truck will be any better, it is burning up TONS of fuel to make clean power, and then it equally burns up parts faster, because they run much hotter. In the long run it requires MORE electricity in foundries to make replacement parts for environmental systems and a new truck, than it would with the truck motors that would have puked out some emissions.
